In late 2008, Jesse started his racing career racing a street stock at Victorville Raceway Park (V.R.P.). He finished 6th out of 20 cars in his first race. He followed that up with a 4th place finish the next race.

He decided to run a full schedule at V.R.P. in 2009, winning his first main event in July & finishing 3 points out of 2nd place for the season. He also won Rookie of the Year in the Street Stock Class.

V.R.P. also had 2 Figure-8 races in 2009. Jesse decided to run them for the fun of it. Jesse won both races!

Looking for a harder challenge, Jesse decided to step up to the Sport-Modified class in late 2009. Jesse got into a 12 year old Sport-Mod with no practice and won his first time out. Jesse ran 4 Sport-Mod races in 2009. He won 3 of them including the biggest race of the year, The Turkey Classic.

In 2010, Jesse ran for two track championships at Victorville Auto Raceway & Perris Auto Speedway. The grueling schedule proved to be too much to pull off a championship, He settled for 4th & 3rd in points respectively.

Determined to win a championship, Jesse concentrated his 2011 efforts to one track, Victorville Raceway Park. After winning 4 out of 10 races there, Jesse became the 2011 VRP Sport Mod Champion!
